‘Parents who constantly fight their children’s battles for them sometimes raise children who are not able to manage confrontation and rebuke. The sooner a child learns to cope, the better. They need to learn such skills and become emotionally stronger.’ - Mrs Jenny Yeo, a local school principal
I agree with her. Kids need to learn that there are actions and consequences. If they do not learn it in a controlled environment such as in school & at home, they will be in for a rude shock when they step out into the world. We need to step back and let them learn how to deal with facing the music. We want kids who are honest with the right moral values and who are also resilient. The bible says very clearly, spare the rod and spoil the child. We are protecting n loving them when we discipline them.Posted on January 21, 2012 ()
