It took me a long time to learn that the flesh cannot be conquered by my efforts & I am still learning how NOT to go about battling it.

From parenting, to dieting, to dealing with the many challenges and myriad relationships in my life, I learn anew what it means to “die to the flesh”.

Dying to the flesh does not mean not caring or being a bum. It does not mean you can’t be bothered. It means u bother enough to acknowledge you cannot so that you step aside to let the One who can take over. It is lesson in humility, trust and faith.

Faith has been said to be “Forgetting All I Trust Him”. Another definition is “Fantastic Adventure In Trusting Him.” Whichever of the two you prefer, they share the same + … Christ and our trust in His finished work.

If a work is finished perfectly how can I add on to it with my pathetic attempts at “making an effort”? Am I saying the person who has completed the work is not as sufficient or able as I am? Isn’t that why we still feel something else needs to be done?

It is hard to let go at first. It is hard to believe that if we don’t so anything but rest, things will pan out. His is not fatalism. This is not conceding defeat. Rather, letting go is a declaration of victory- His victory.

Rest and know that He will not let this day pass u by before dealing perfectly with the matters that trouble u ( just recalling Naomi’s words to Ruth about Boaz. Boaz was Ruth’s kinsmen redeemer and also a picture of Christ. Ruth is a picture of the gentile bride… Aka us… Of the LORD).

In His time, He will make all things beautiful in His time. :) Wait on the LORD with joyful expectancy.
